APTA Grant Money at Work in North Park

Under glorious blue skies (definitely not the usual Pittsburgh paddle skies), the North Park Platform Tennis Association had its official ribbon cutting ceremony opening its newly refurbished Court #1.

Faced with a crumbling superstructure on Court 1, payments on a new -used 4th court and repairs to Court 2 and the paddle hut made necessary by a falling tree,  the North Park Platform Tennis Association turned to the APTA for help when they discovered that a used super structure was available for purchase. 

The North Park Platform Tennis Association impressed the APTA’s Growth Committee with its public nature, strong leadership, sweat equity and clear financial need, and so the APTA board approved a grant of $10,000 to purchase the new super structure.
