President's Cup - Rules for Region II
Region II Men’s President Cup Rules and Qualifications

- All players must be current members of the APTA to be eligible for Region II PCQ points prior to the event being played. All APTA rules and requirements pertaining to President Cup competition will apply.
- Any player from Region II can get points in PCQ tournaments regardless of partner.
- Each player shall compete in at least three (3) Region II PCQ tournaments to be eligible.
- The top eight (8) eligible players in three (3) Region II PCQ events plus bonus points will be automatically placed on the President Cup Team.
- The final two (2) players will be a Captain’s Choice selection regardless of how many players have met the eligibility requirements.
- If there are not eight (8) eligible players, then the Captain will choose as many players from the Region needed to complete the five (5) team roster regardless of points.
- The President Cup Captain will be responsible for team order. Points accumulated will not necessarily determine order.

- 12 points Winner
- 10 points Finalist
- 8 points Semi- finalist
- 6 points Quarter Reprieve Winner
- 5 points Quarter Finalist
- 3 points 16 Reprieve Winner
- 1 point Round of 16
- 1 Bonus For Each PCQ Event Attended
Women’s President’s Cup Scoring/Seeding Rules
In order to qualify, individuals need to participate in Region 2 President’s Cup Qualifier (PCQ) tournaments.
The following rules apply to President’s Cup qualification.
- The three best tournament results will be used to determine qualification points.
- Players must play in at least two PCQ tournaments to be eligible to play PC.
- Players may accrue points as individuals and do not have to play with the same partner to accrue points.
- Players may play with out-of-region players and receive PCQ points.
The following APTA rules also apply to Presidents’ Cup qualification.
- Players must be full APTA members to receive PC points.
- Players must play all rounds of a tournament (including consolations) to receive points for that tournament.
- Players must play in the Nationals if they play PC.
The tournament seeding will be done based on PC points and the judgement of the seeding committee (Kate Rugen and Kitty Palmer). |
