Men’s President’s Cup Scoring/Seeding Rules 2009/10

How Teams Qualify

To qualify for the Region VII Men’s President’s Cup Team players must play at least 2 tournaments within the Region.

Final Standings

Final standings will be based on total points from a player’s 3 best results.

Rules for Playing With and Losing to Out-of-Region Players

If a Region VII player partners with an out-of-region player for a Region VII tournament the Region VII player’s points will be awarded for 2 places lower.

(for example, winning a 16 team draw with an out-of-region partner: 1st place to 3rd place = 18 points)

Region VII players who lose to a team consisting of one or two out-of-region players will receive points for the next round of play.

Awarding of Points

Each PCQ tournament will determine 1st through 10th place results. Matches to determine 3rd-4th and 7th-8th places should be played for all tournaments.

Points will be awarded to each individual on a team as follows:

1st..............25
2nd.............20
3rd..............18
4th..............16
5th..............14
6th..............12
7th..............10
8th................8
9th................6
10th..............4
all others.....1

Tournament Weightings

All PCQ tournaments with 16 or more teams entered will have equal weight (full point awards). Smaller draws with 12-15 teams will have points weighted by 80%; fewer than 12 teams weighted by 60%. (for example, winning a 14 team draw: 25 x 80% = 20 points)
