As if Pittsburgh Paddle Palooza wasn't already great on its own, Beat the Pros brought down the house.

David Brooks, board member of the WPPTA in Pittsburgh, told us about this great addition to their end-of-season tournament and celebration.
Format for Beat the Pros
- Two top players—Mike Wagner and Will Reifeis—served as the “pros.”
- 10 pairs were randomly selected from a draw of more than 150 players.
- Each pair played the pros for precisely three points.
- A $500 prize pool (donated by JKS Financial) was up for grabs.
How to Win
- $10 each for winning 1 point.
- $50 each for winning 2 out of 3 points.
- $100 each for winning all 3 points.
- Any money not won after the 10 challenges is split by the pros (about $200 in this case).
Brooks said, "No one managed 3 out of 3 points, but two pairs got 2 out of 3. The crowd was fired up! It was my favorite feature of the entire Pittsburgh Paddle Palooza.”
Take it for a test-run or tweak it to fit your tourney. Any way you work it, trying to beat the pros at their own game is always entertaining.
