2014 Calendar Tips & FAQ
August 24, 2014
The new calendar is easier to scan but can be challenging to navigate the first few times members use it. So here are some helpful hints for finding the tournaments you and your partner want to play in.
1. Basic Search
Search allows members to pick one category ("Region VII") and automatically the calendar shows only tournaments being hosted in Region VII. Choose another category from the drop down menu ("PCQ") and the calendar displays on those tournaments sanctioned as President Cup Qualifiers.
2. Advance Search
With Advanced search you can select multiple categories at once. If you click Advanced - Select Multiple Categories you come to a drop down menu with all the categories listed. You have three choices for narrowing your search, Keyword, Categories and Date From:/Date To:
Keyword: You can enter any word in here, like the name of the tournament ("Peachtree") or an event director ("David Barlow") or leave it blank for a broader search.
Hope this helps! Write to us with your questions and we will keep adding more tips and suggestions to help get you off the computer and onto the court this winter!
Categories: This is where you can select multiple categories by using the "Command" or "Alt" key on your keyboard to refine the search to a few specific categories. For instance you can choose "Region II" and "Senior" and to find the Senior tourney being played around New England.
Date From: Date To: This can be the most confusing for members. You must click on an actual day to set the time range. So if you want all PCQ tournaments in the 2014-2015 Season, you leave the Date From: as the default date, and choose a specific date, like May 12, 2015, for the Date To: choice.
