It was a wonderful weekend: great people; great food; great parties; and terrible weather that didn’t dampen anyone’s spirits. In a repeat of last year's finals, locals Wendy Shpiz and Christi Hays had another long, tense final with Sarah Williams and Linda Hoch of Chicago. Two and a half hours long and 8 balls later, Wendy and Christi won 8-6 in a third set tiebreaker. Sarah's husband Dan Williams and partner Pete Rose defeated Rob LeBuhn and Mike Atkinson in the Men's A. The Women's B was captured by Janey Kuhl and Elizabeth Darden, and father/son duo Toby and Ed Hays took the Ned Griffith Jr. Cup.

If you haven't ventured out to California for the January Mens and Womens NorCal Open (January 22, 2010), this is the season.
You will find a third paddle court beneath the towering redwoods. The court looks like it has been there forever. In just a matter of days, the court installer came in to town and put up a new court and resurfaced the two existing courts. The Club now has three top notch courts set in the midst of arguably the most scenic and natural environment in the country. As part of the overall effort, three other local courts were also resurfaced.
Our quaint paddle community now has six paddle courts that are in pristine condition, and ready for the season to begin. When the frigid winter winds hit the east and midwest, know you are always welcome for a game in relatively balmy California!
