The polar vortex temperatures warmed to lovely paddle weather on a still and sunny day in Chevy Chase, Maryland. The DC Women's Open PCQ welcomed 24 teams featuring players from Region III and beyond, including Maryland, Virginia, Delaware, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Chicago, and Atlanta.

It was a deep draw and all the players were keen on moving through the matches at a qui2014-11-17-DC women's openck clip. The moment a court was open people dashed on court—everyone wanted to keep playing! The host facility, the Chevy Chase Club, features seven first-class paddle courts, which helped keep the schedule on track, and a newly renovated paddle lounge and viewing area, which allowed the crowd to follow points closely from very comfortable chairs and sofas.

Congratulations to top-seeds, Karin Kochis and Cooey Lyon who defeated perennial Senior National champion Diane Straus Tucker and Tournament Director Erin Nicholson-Ortiz in the finals, 7-5, 6-2. Winners received awesome awards plus home-baked pies!
